Their father has decided to bring them with on his visit back to his hometown and his mother for the summer. Theo has never met her grandmother, and she doesn't know what to expect, but to say she is unhappy about spending the summer away from her friends and her everyday life is an understatement. Her grandmother's greeting as they arrive includes a warning to always be home before dark. As teens, Theo and Marco are quick to ignore this warning as being over-protective. But there is a group of girls that everyone seems to know in this small town, and who have a bit more power over the boys that are around them.

Compared to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Lost Boys, this story has enough secrets and scary monsters to keep you guessing all the way through. The real question, though, that no one in town seems to be asking - will Theo still have a chance to return home at the end of the summer?
