There are a few people, including Franny, that believe that discovering the secrets behind this yearly migration of the Arctic tern just may teach humanity something about how to survive... but most don't see any reason at all behind Franny's determined fight. As she struggles to find supporters and a boat and a crew willing to travel with her on this unusual voyage, the international governments are outlawing access to the oceans in hopes of saving the few remaining fish. It seems the world itself is becoming harsher as Franny pushes through the many obstacles she faces, but will she discover the secret place that the Arctic terns return to year after year?
